August 2008 Getting ready for a practice run!

April 2009
Racing Season Begins!  Nothing like having the winter to regroup a race team and rebuild a badly wrecked Pontiac to bring about a great start of the 2009 racing season at Grundy County Speedway. After being turned head on into the retaining wall, and flipped, last August, The boys at the race car shop completely tore the car down to the bare frame, and went from the ground up restubbing the damaged frame horn, and rebuilt the entire car, generating a finshed product that is better than new. The race results prove it. After three shows, 15 year old Frank Slabenak in the number 29 Pontiac Grand Prix finds himself in 5th place in the point standings in the Mid American Series at Grundy, nearly winning the feature race opening night

Racing Season is about to begin! We have been working very hard to get the race car back into commission from last season. We are excited for Frank and his 2nd year of racing. We look forward to seeing you at some of the races.

WHAT A RACE! Frank is doing a SPECTACULAR job!! He keeps improving each week of racing. His racing background didn’t include stock car racing, so jumping into a car in this very competitive series is a lot to carry especially for a 15 year old. He has two 2nd place finishes in heat races and continues to move up in the point standings (currently 20th), even though his season didn't start until the 4th of July weekend. He had to turn 15 before he could race. This last weekend was a tough one. Coming into the first turn on the first lap of the feature, a car spun in from of him. He was able to stop in time without hitting the car in front of him, but the car coming up on him didn't stop in time -- sandwiching him between the two. He was able to drive to the pit for damage control and was back in the race for the restart. He finished the race 13th despite a bent right upper control arm. Frank and the Three Finger Fencl Pontiac race every Friday at Grundy County Speedway.

Way to go kid!

Thanks to all the fans that came out to cheer Frank on!! We appreciate the support!
